People don't have a right to live wherever they want. Private property, especially private residence, is still a foundational aspect of our culture and economy. Edit: I like AOC, I like her intentions, but plenty of the statements in that video are naive, uninformed, and made by people who clearly don’t understand how things work. I agree that there should be incentives for builders to make housing affordable to low-income people, but no one deserves to live in Manhattan, for example. If you can’t afford it, I guess you have to move to Queens.I support Bernie Sanders, but I don’t like what he said about gentrification. It’s all supply/demand. It’s better to look at why these people can’t afford to live where they want and create betteremployment/educational opportunities. I would like to think I’m somewhat of an idealist, and I think it’s easy to get caught up in supporting something that sounds so righteous, so fair, and ignore the true cause of the issue.
